I clearly remember the day I felt my life was breaking into pieces.

Sobbing and asking myself over and over again “Did I make the right decision?”

Little did I know that was a turning point. My life as I knew it would never be the same again. The thing is we don’t realize that some times things have to end for other things to start.

Standing strong when everything around you is pushing you down feels like you are walking against strong winds.

Deep down you know that the winds will eventually stop but the question is how long can you still keep walking against it?

4 things that kept me strong during tough times

1- My Trust in  Allah

I found a sense of peace and reassurance in my faith, in Allah.

Knowing that whatever I am going through is part of my journey, even if I don’t understand why it is happening to me.

I TRUST in Allah and that he knows best.

I trust that he is going to give me the strength that I need to get through.

2- Being Patient

The wait….

To be patient..This is by far the hardest thing I had to do.

Considering that we live in a world of technology where everything is done at a click of a button.

Waiting has never been harder that it is now.

However as hard as it is, sometimes you just have to wait for the storm to take its course and wait for the sun to come out again.

I found peace is this ayah “Verily, Allah is with the patient” Suarh Al Baqarah verse 153

3- Surrounding myself with positive people

This is so important!

You have enough going on, you don’t need people constantly telling you how hard life is.

Having the support of my family and friends was such a great help. Be around people who make you laugh, who are positive and can give you hope. People who genuinely care for you and want to see you happy.

4-What doesn’t break you, makes you stronger

You will find ourselves in situations where you feel like the world is against you and no body seems to care.

But did you ever think for a moment that the person who you are today is a result of what you have been through?

You see, it is hard to believe that often our breaking point is our shaping point.

I believe that the person who I am today is a result of my experiences and my overcoming my challenges, Alhamdulilah.

I pray that these tips will help you get through whatever it is that you are going through.

Please share any other tips you might have to stay strong, you don’t know who it might help.

Point 2 is so hard. So hard. Despite having to fight the things around me – each and every day – my biggest fight is within; trying to be patient.

    Thanks for sharing and posting.

    Ma salaam.

I totally agree, patience is the hardest as you never know when things are going to change which is why it is a test subhan Allah. May Allah grant us the patience and strength to overcome our difficulties.

      My pleasure Mohammed 🙂

I still haven’t got over my ex leaving me, it’s been a month and a half, everytime I forget, he calls and I tell him to comeback but he refuses and I am back to square one, like the first day he walked out on me for another woman….I wish he just left me because the relationship didn’t work and not for a stupid female. I don’t know if patience is helping….I pray but lose focus by sobbing, I don’t know how long I need to get strong again, I am praying soon, closing all kind of contact helped but I decided to pick up the call and fall in the trap, AGAIN…..
