Reflections of a Man | The Sewist

Reading has been one of my favourite pastimes ever since I can remember. My tastes in books has changed over the years and I so wish that had read Reflections of a man by Mr Amari Soul when I was younger.

Reflections of a Man | The Sewist
Reflections of a Man

Although it is written for both genders, the majority of the book is giving advice to women. Mr Amari Soul believes it is time for women to value themselves and dedicated a whole section titled For You.

For You has 17 sub sections which consists reminding women on their values, advice on men, things to think about and the right man amongst other things.

In some parts, I honestly felt that he was speaking about me, just like he had taken words right out of my heart and mind and wrote about them. He talks about the kind of things only other women would get, you know what I mean?

Reflections of a Man | The Sewist

I have yet to figure out he manages to understand us so well, I secretly think that the author is a woman but writing under the pen name of Mr Amari Soul. It’s just hard to believe that a man can understand women so well. According to his bio he is a guy who just wants a change.

The rest of the book is split into 3 sections titled For Him, For Both of you and his personal thoughts.

If you are a woman: I highly recommend you get this book, it made me smile, it made me cry but most of all it gave me “aha now I get it moments”. Whatever is your relationship status single, married, divorced this book is for you!

If you are a man: You know how complicated we are this book will give you the answers you need. You will learn about how we function and what we want from you to feel loved and appreciated. Which will lead to a happy you 🙂

Overall I found this book to be an easy read and its definitely a book I will be pick up to read again and again.

If you are in Oman you can buy it at Borders for 7.500 OMR for the rest of you it is available on  Amazon.

Check out my book reading list for other books I have reviewed.

Well, this looks really interesting. Have you ever read Reclaim your Heart by Yasmin Mogahed? It’s one of my absolutely favourite books. I’d like to read books by Omani authors, so maybe that’s what you can blog about next?

    Hi Mayya,

So glad I stumbled upon your blog. It’s wonderful and very inspiring.
Being a Muslim woman myself I’d love it if you could blog about the representation of Muslims in modern day literature (the stereotyped “oppressed” Muslim woman in particular) – how far it’s come along and the positive and negative affect it has on people’s perception of Muslims and Islam (and any book recommendations you’d like to give).

This is the first time I’ve heard about Reflections Of A Man and it sounds very intriguing to say the least. I’d love the chance to read it.

Thank you for hosting this giveaway.
