Can you believe that in less than 30 days we say welcome 2017?
Today I am sharing 6 ways on how you can be more productive in 2017 and achieve the goals you’ve set for yourself.
Setting your goals is a critical step that you have to tackle in deciding exactly what it is you want to do. It is ultimately what you want to achieve in a certain period of your life.
Easier said than done right?
This is not an easy task because you really have to dig deep and break it down because not only do you have to find out what you want to do but how you are going to do it and by when.
Remember that your goals have to be SMART by that I mean your goals have to be:
I highly recommend you read XO Sarah her NO BS guide to choosing goals + making a plan for the new year. Which will cover all that you need to ensure that you set and accomplish those goals of yours!
“Planning to fail is failing to plan” think about it for a minute…if you don’t plan your journey then don’t expect reach to your destination. Especially if you didn’t take into account where you are heading and how you are going to get there (referring to your goals above).
When making plans you are ensuring that you are on track in achieving your goals.
Wouldn’t it be handy if you had a printable calendar that you can jot down your tasks?
I got you covered check out this printable monthly calendar by Sparkles of Sunshine. It’s free all you have to do is sign up to her newsletter to get it.
I know what you are thinking…how can I prioritize when everything is a priority?!
The truth of the matter is all tasks need to get done at some point the urgency to get it done answers your priority question.
I would recommend you focus on choosing 3-4 goals per month.
Start off by making a list of all tasks that you need to complete for the month. Then list them in order of importance making note of any deadlines you might need to adhere to.
Schedule time in your week to do them and don’t forget to cross them off once completed!
I found these I will printable from Live Laugh Rowe that should help you keep track of your goals.
Ahh the art of saying no, this is something I personally struggle with.
I realized that what makes it hard in saying No is the fact that we feel obligated to go to say YES.
We don’t want to let others down or worse offend them. So instead of being honest with them and declining politely we end up accepting and putting ourselves under unnecessary pressure.
If these people really care about you they will understand if they dont, well I guess you know where they stand.
Found this great post on Simplify 101 on how to say no without feeling guilty.
With all the planning remember to take care of the most important person, YOU!
No matter how many things you have to do, or people you have to see or take care of you wont be able to do it if you don’t take care of yourself.
Schedule some time for yourself, even if it’s only for 30 mins. You need the time for yourself, if you don’t have the time MAKE the time because you are worth it. If you cant do it for yourself then do it for those whom you care about.
Now that you have decided on your goals, your plans then all that is left for your is to stay on track!
Don’t get sidetracked or lose focus, keep your eyes on the prize.
I honestly can’t wait for the new year and looking forward to what is has to bring
